1st Unit - Agentur für Filmschaffende wurde im Jahr 1997 in München gegründet und etablierte damit auf dem deutschen Markt ein Servicekonzept, das im europäischen Ausland sowie in den USA bereits gang und gäbe ist.

Elke Apelt, langjährige Mitarbeiterin von Hans-Joachim Berndt, Filmhaus München sowie Roman Kuhn (u.a. RKP, Lounge Entertainment und Crossing Pictures) bietet mit ihrer Mitarbeiterin Melanie Hähnel den Kreativen hinter der Kamera ein komplettes "Backoffice".

Unter dem Motto "Be creative - we care for the rest" übernehmen sie für Musikclip-/Werbefilm-Regisseure, Kameramänner, Kostüm- und Szenenbildner, Special-Effect-Make-Up etc. allerdings nicht nur den Büroalltag und stellen sicher, dass diese rund um die Uhr durch die Agentur erreichbar sind. Not only do they take over all administrative and organizational office duties for directors of video clips/advertising films, cameramen, costume and set designers, special-effect make-up artists etc. - they also make sure that their clients can be reached round the clock via the agency.
